Instagram users delete accounts based on a different purposes. Accounts can be deleted for security purposes. Users need to log in (with username and password) to their account to request account deletion.
Request For deleting an account permanently.
You might want to have access to your information (like videos, photos, etc.) just before deleting your Instagram account from the Instagram board because you won’t have access to Instagram’s data download tools in which your information can not be obtained once your account has been deleted. The steps are as follows:
- On your mobile phone or personal computer, go to the “delete my account” page. You must have logged into your account before requesting for deletion of your account.
- Select from the menu drop-down next to “Why do you want to delete your account”? then you need to re-enter your password. Then you can now permanently delete your account when you have chosen a reason for deleting your account.
- Click on the “delete” option.
But you might like to delete another account from the present one.
- You click on the username at the top right of the “delete your account page”.
- Then click on the tab next to “edit your profile” and select the “log out” option.
- Then you can now log in as the account to be deleted and follow the same directions stated above.
NOTE:
It is very important to know that users can get back all their information in a period of thirty (30) days after the deletion of an account on Instagram and the content of the account will remain subject to “Instagram Term of use” and “data policy” and will not be visible and accessible to others using Instagram, but will lose the account and all the information once it is above thirty (30) days and will have to create another account if needed. The username to your former account must have been nullified (does not exist again) unless it has been taken or used by another user.
It is also pertinent to know that you may not be able to sign in with your username if your Instagram account has been removed for violating Instagram Community Guidelines.
It may take up to 90 days to complete the deletion process after it begins. Copies of your content may remain after the 90 days in backup storage that we use to recover in the event of a disaster, software error, or other data loss event. We may also keep your information for things such as legal issues, term violations, or harm prevention efforts.
