A user might be passing through the difficulty of reaching out to friends and realizing that they are not responding. There must have been something happening that the user has not been taking note of, which includes, the user might not be online, even busy when online, the person might have also deleted the WhatsApp account or even deleted the App itself, and also you might have been blocked at the other end.
If in case you are blocked by someone on WhatsApp, there are several signs or indicators that will definitely let you know that you are blocked. This article will be taking you through some signs to let you know if you are blocked on WhatsApp.
Signs to know that you have been blocked on WhatsApp
When a particular user decided not to conversate with you again, he might finally choose to block you. But note that WhatsApp will never notify you that you are being blocked by a user. Since he/she is using one of the WhatsApp features. And below are some of the signs to take note of if you are probably blocked.
a) No Profile Updates
One of the signs that one of your contacts has blocked you is that their profile information and pictures will no longer be visible to you again. You won’t be able to see their stories or even their online status on the App also.
Unable to see a user’s profile’s updates might be either because the other user has deleted their WhatsApp account or might have been blocked. You can also search from the friend search to verify, if the user’s profile comes up, you have been blocked.
Though there are some users who neither do they upload their profile pictures nor update their profile activities. Once their profile is visible, you can easily message them as the checkmark in front of the message sent will always give you a hint if you can still conversate with them or not.
b) Last Seen Missing
Another sign that you might have been blocked by someone is that you won’t be able to see the “last seen” or even the “online status” details of such a person, this means you might have been blocked.
Also take note that, if you or the other person has updated your privacy settings to “nobody”, this will definitely affect your last seen and you seeing other people’s last seen unless you change it back in your privacy settings to “everyone”
But if you are able to check back on your privacy settings and are still set at “everyone”, and the last time you charted the person in the target that theirs were still visible, then there is a tendency that you have been blocked.
c) Checkmarks and Their Meanings
These checkmarks are always at the front of the messages, to give signals of how far your messages have gone. These checkmarks are of two colors, it is either “gray” or “blue” in color. Below are the meaning and interpretations of each checkmark on WhatsApp.
One grayed mark interprets that the message has been sent but yet to be delivered and read by the receiver.
Two grayed marks interpret that the message has been sent, and delivered but yet to be read by the receiver.
Two blue marks interpret that your message has been sent, received, and read by the receiver.
At times you might be having just one gray checkmark for a very long time, this might be due to a very bad network connection, after that if the grey checkmark still fails to change, then there is a tendency that you have been blocked from the other end.
d) WhatsApp call
One other sign you can see if you are blocked by one of your contacts is through WhatsApp calls. Just like a normal phone call, you are also eligible to call your contacts on WhatsApp. But only make use of your data subscription and it is free.
It works in the sense that when you call a contact on WhatsApp, it will ring in a normal way and the recipient will pick up from their own end.
But if you are blocked by a particular contact that you are trying to reach on a WhatsApp call, the call will just ring briefly and be disconnected automatically just like that of a normal phone call, this sign is also telling you that you might have been blocked by that particular contact.
You can also test another WhatsApp contact on your phone to be rest assured if you are doubting yourself.
