MTN is one of the most popular networks in Nigeria and Africa generally. Due to the fact that it is one of the earliest networks introduced in the country. And this has made the network gain much ground compared to other networks. And since then, MTN has been widely used by Nigerians for effective communication within and outside the country. Below is how to share data on MTN

MTN is widely and popularly known for its distinct color, yellow. MTN has a lot of mars in different parts of the country to enhance a good, effective and stable network.

Methods of sharing data on MTN.

There are three methods of sharing data on MTN to MTN in an easy and successful ways for the benefit of their users, these are done through MyMTN app, SMS, or the use of USSD code. And these methods will be explained one after the other explicitly.

Using USSD code for transfer on MTN to MTN.

First step

This is done by dialing the USSD code * 131 * the receiver’s phone number * data amount #. For example * 131 * 08132472107 * 1000 #. In less than 5 minutes the data must have reached its destination if it is properly well done.

Second step

Dial * 131 * 7 # and continue following the options until it is done. Unlike the first step which is more or less like a direct process or method.

Using SMS method to transfer data from MTN to MTN.

This is done through the message menu on the phone thus: transfer, space, phone number, space, data amount then send it to 131. For example, transfer 08139267279 500 to 131.

One more thing the user needs to take note of before sending the data is to verify the recipient’s phone number very well before sending it to avoid sending it to the wrong number. Because once it is sent to the wrong number there is no way or code for retrieving the data back.

Also, data can be shared among family, friends, and loved ones.

Way to buy Data for a Friend or Family.

If you don’t have sufficient data to share with friends or family on your phone, you can buy an MTN data plan for them which will be charged from your MTN airtime balance.

Just dial * 131 * bundle activation code * receivers phone number # then send. Example * 131 * 6 * 08067783314 #, very fast and easy. This method can be used to buy data of any amount for your friends and family.
