1.There might be a Defective water Inlet valve

One of the common problem of a Samsung refrigerator not working well is a defective water inlet valve. This water inlet valve is connected to the water supply line in order to provide water for the ice maker. It is when the ice maker requires water that the inlet valve will be opened to supply the water.

At times, the water inlet valve might be blocked and fail to open due to some mineral deposit there. Also, the water inlet valve might be affected electrically. You will have to replace the water inlet valve if any of the two happened to your Samsung Refrigerator.

The Samsung refrigerator model you have will determine how you access the water inlet valve. When you want to remove the water inlet valve for replacement, make sure you off the water supply and disconnect the power button before you access the valve for replacement. Trying to replace your water inlet valve should be carried out by a professional technician.

2.Ice blockage or buildup

If not the common reason, then one of the most common reasons with your Samsung ice freezer. Ice blockage or buildup is always common problem to the Samsung refrigerator. This ice is usually built up in the dispenser tube or the ice maker tray.

In order to solve this issue of ice blockage or buildup, the ice will need to be defrosted. This is done if your refrigerator model has an auto-defrost function, if it has it, you can use the auto-defrost function to defrost the ice maker or if needed, the entire refrigerator.

If the try is iced all over it body, then you might need to remove the ice maker  component in order to allow them to defrost or you can just apply a little heat from an hairdryer to the exact component affected.

Some dispenser tubes are located inside the ice maker while some are not inside but outside and some don’t even have at all, depending on the model you have. The ice blockage is very common when the disperser tube is located inside the ice maker.

Clearing the blockage is done by applying a slight heat to the area affected, but not too much heat in order not to affect the inner part of the refrigerator.

But at times, you might have noticed that your ice maker has been producing a broken ice or a small cube. The water pressure gauge is used in checking and verifying the water pressure.

Before you start checking for the waterline, make sure you turn off the refrigerator and also turn off the water. Held the water line over a bucket and if you have a steady flow of water, strong, then the water pressure might not be the problem, but in a situation where the water rushed or dribbles out, then there is likely a problem.
